Celebrate Book Week 2022, 'Dreaming with eyes open' with a visit to your local Library. Enter the Kempsey Libraries Book Week competition or  have your say in the 'Book of the Year community vote'.

Every year the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) celebrates the best of Australian children's literature. The CBCA professionals will announce the Book Week winners on Friday 19 August 2022. You can vote for the books that were your favourites as many times as you like.

Thanks to all who voted in our Book of the Year Community Vote. We had over 960 votes! Here are the Mid North Coast Community Vote winners:

• Older Readers: Girls in Boys’ Cars by Felicity Castagna
• Younger Readers: Dragon Skin by Karen Foxlee
• Picture Book: Just One Bee by Christopher Nielsen, Margrete Lamond and Anthony Bertini
• Eve Pownall Award: Book of Curious Birds by Jennifer Cossins
• New Illustrator: Great White Shark by Cindy Lane and Claire Saxby
