Keep kids reading this summer!

The Big Summer Read runs from 1 December to 31 January. This fun program encourages children and teens (ages 3–18) to keep reading during the summer holidays.

How it works

  • Collect your reading calendar from the library.
  • Log the days you spend reading.
  • Reach milestones to collect playing cards featuring unique characters, plus other rewards and prizes.

Special Rewards

  • Read for 10 days: You’ll be invited to our Wrap-Up Party! Lots of fun to be had.
  • Read for 30+ days: Go into the draw to win a major prize!

How to join

  • Visit your local Kempsey Shire Library to register and collect your reading calendar.
  • Start reading and collecting your cards!
