Baby Bounce returns to round off Book Week
Published on 26 August 2022
There were smiles and laughter on Friday morning as we celebrated the return of Baby Bounce and held a Storytime session at Kempsey Library.
The long-awaited return of Baby Bounce did not disappoint with parents, caregivers and bubs bopping around to some classics like Old McDonald Had a Farm and If You’re Happy and You Know It, while interacting with children their age. Families enjoyed stories, rhymes, movements and of course lots of fun with other young families. Thank you for coming!
The storytelling and singing continued shortly after for Storytime where Children’s Librarian Melanie got right into Book Week. She dressed as a bee from Margaret Lamond’s book Just One Bee, which took out an honour award for Picture Book of the Year this Book Week. Melanie then whipped out her guitar and strummed some classic sing-alongs that got the whole room moving.
Storytime happens every Friday fortnight at 10.30am. Storytime includes book readings, crafts and often a musical activity. The sessions are designed for children aged 3 to 6 years and aim to develop early literacy skills in a fun and social environment.
Baby Bounce happens on the 4th Friday of each month at 10am. At Baby Bounce you and bub get to enjoy stories, rhymes, movement, and lots of fun with other young families. The sessions are interactive, fun and beneficial to both you and your child.
These sessions are held in the Kempsey Library and are free. No booking required.
