The school holidays is a great time to visit your local library as we often have fun events.
Most recently, we had two excellent Making Music workshops for the July 2026 school holidays. It was a magnificent turn out with 15 kids and 8 adults joining us in Kempsey and 18 kids and 10 adults taking part at the South West Rocks CWA Hall.
The workshops started reading some marvellous musical stories, with My possum plays the drums by Catherine Meatheringham getting everyone smashing and crashing like a noisy possum.
Together we investigated different ways of making sound and made our own musical instruments out of craft items. Every participant went home with some creatively decorated instruments including wooden spoon rattles, paper plate tambourines and egg cup shakers. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
