Kempsey Shire Libraries will be closed from Monday 23 December 2024, reopening Thursday 2 January 2025
Focusing on both the theory of memoir writing and skills development, this 2 hour workshop highlights the importance of telling our stories and documenting our personal history.
It will include a presentation on the art of memoir writing, as well as hands-on writing activities on prompting memories and plotting out life milestones.
Presented by Kim Hodges. Kim grew up in Coolah, a small remote town in Central NSW. She has lived in Sydney and abroad in her 20s and 30s; starkly different to Coolah. In her mid 40s she commenced writing her memoir (storing it in the cupboard!) for her three sons to read in the years to come, before realising this story was unique and may resonate with a broad readership. She has now written her memoir in trilogy (Girl On The Edge, Girl Over The Edge and Girl On The Ward). Kim currently resides on the NSW north coast.
Bookings essential. Register online or by calling Kempsey Library on 6566 3210.
This event is supported by Community Housing Limited and is part of the Macleay Seniors Festival.
