Congratulations Summer Reading Club participants

What a fantastic finish to the end of our Summer Reading Club 2024 with all participants invited to Majestic Cinemas in Kempsey over the weekend to watch a special screening of the film ‘Migration’.
We are so proud of all the outstanding young readers that took part in the years program, completing their reading passports, which means they have read up to 16 books over the Summer!
We had 32 children, and 27 adults attend the Summer Reading Club wrap up event on Saturday 5 February and all those who joined in loved the film and especially their complementary popcorn and choc top!
Congratulations to the Summer Reading Club prize winners
We had some very happy prize winners with Sylvie Morris taking out the top prize, earning herself a $200 Big W Voucher!
Liza Schmidt was our Young Adult winner and Georgina Collins was our Junior winner. Both proud recipients of a $60 Big W voucher.
There were also four lucky winners of a $20 Big W voucher, randomly selected from everyone who participated in the program, they were: Matthew Collins, Quinn Swan, Tully Middleton and Alison Field.

Thank you to our children’s librarian Melanie Webb for all her hard work and dedication to make this program happen. To our library staff Gloria, Tash and Danika for helping out on the day and the wider library team for your enthusiasm in encouraging Kempsey Shire kids to join the program.

About the Summer Reading Club
The Summer Reading Club is a program run by the Kempsey Shire Libraries to encourage childhood literacy. Encouraging children to participate in a series of 16 reading challenges over the summer to engage them in the enchanting world of books and help them experience the joy of stories together.
