A special little visitor dropped by Kempsey Library

A Microbat

We welcome visitors of all shapes and sizes, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen one as small as this! Today a broad-nosed microbat decided to stop by the Kempsey Library to take a nap!

There are over 60 different species of microbat in Australia, their diet mostly consists of insects, however there are some that will eat fruits, and small animals.

The microbat was rescued by FAWNA NSW and taken to a safer spot to sleep. If you see native wildlife in distress in the Macleay Valley, please contact FAWNA NSW on 6581 4141.
