Library visitors can now enter the renovated space from Elbow Street and take in the evolving courtyard as they walk in.
Following the completion of Stage 1 of the project, the remaining works, largely concentrated at the back of the building, will now commence.
In 2021, Kempsey Shire Council received a Public Library Infrastructure Grant funding from the NSW Government to renovate Kempsey Library. The refurbishment will include a refreshed building layout and design, reinvigorated children's area and meeting room, conversion of the courtyard into an outdoor reading and activity space, and improved study and technology facilities.
We would like to thank the community for their patience while the Kempsey Library renovations are carried out.
