Read your way around the world this summer!

Travel around the world with the summer reading club this year, with a special global reading challenge for young people of all ages. This annual event, designed to spark the imagination and foster a love for reading among children, promises a season filled with adventure, discovery, and fantastic tales.

What is the Summer Reading Club?

How can my child get involved?

• Attend any Kempsey Shire Library branch and collect a reading log. Read 10 books and record them on the log to be invited to our Wrap Up Party at Riverside Movies Kempsey on Thursday 30th January 2025.
•  Then complete the ‘Around the World’ challenge for the chance to win a major prize! Collect your ‘Around the World’ map from any library branch and read a book from each continent. You can scan the QR codes to find book lists from around the world or go hunting for your own. Record the names of the books you have read and return your form to any library branch.
• Children will need to have their own library card. If they don't yet have their own library card, getting one is easy. Simply bring your photo ID into your local branch and the lovely library team will do the rest.

What can you win? 

Reading Prizes  

• Reading Prize: $20 Big W voucher (4 x vouchers to be won in total) 

Major Prizes 

Once you have read 10 books then complete the Around the World challenge to go in the running to win a Major Prize!

• Major Prize: $100 Big W voucher
• One junior winner (aged 3 – 11) will win a $50 Big W voucher  
• One young adult winner (aged 12 – 18) will win a $50 Big W voucher 

All prizes will be drawn at the Wrap Up Party at Riverside Movies Kempsey on Thursday 30th January 2025.
